This project involves the side by side comparison of two existing portable classrooms at Pinewood Elementary School in Marysville, Washington. The classrooms were already built and sited when BAIHP became involved, and neither are built to BAIHP standards. PS 5 is a newer unit and represents the most energy efficient current practice unit available on the market and was constructed and sited in 2000. Unlike other school districts who use heat pumps this school district uses electric resistance heating and economizer cooling. PS 2 is the 1985 model portable. Construction differences between the standard classroom and the more energy efficient classroom are listed in the table below.
All data is downloaded daily to FSEC via modem. Data summaries can be accessed online at the InfoMonitors web site. Detailed data queries and graphs can also be generated through FSEC's WebGet database. |
